On May 31, the Hoover Institution of Stanford University opened its doors to the leaders of the Russian Jewish community. Table Captains and Sponsors of the JCF Russian Division’s 2004 Gala came together for a beautiful appreciation event consisting of dinner and an exclusive viewing of the Hoover Archives. The exhibit featured many original documents from 20th-century Russian-Jewish leaders in literature and politics. Highlights included materials relating to the life and works of Boris Pasternak and his family, manuscripts and memorabilia of Joseph Brodsky, and archives reflecting Isaac Babel’s life and works.
Guests also enjoyed a presentation of the Russian Division’s activities and an overview of the JCF. The event won many raves, with many participants commenting that they are thrilled to be a part of our growing, vibrant community.
